About the Foundation

What is the Spring Valley Foundation for Educational Enrichment?
The Spring Valley Foundation for Educational Enrichment is a not-for-profit, community based organization which exists solely to solicit, receive, and disperse funds to complement and enhance the educational programs for all students of Spring Valley Elementary District 99.

Where does the funding come from?
Through donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations who desire to make a difference in the lives and education of children in the local community.

How are donations utilized?
The money is used to complement and enhance education programs in Spring Valley Elementary District 99. Funds are dispersed for the direct benefit of students, and are not utilized for items that are budgeted for regular district expenditures.

Will children in any particular group benefit from my donation?
Funds from the Foundation potentially benefit all students, and are specifically utilized to enhance or provide new educational opportunities. There are a wide range of educational needs for the nearly 700 students from grades pre-k through 8th grade the district serves, but the Foundation exists for the benefit of all students.

Are my donations to the Foundation tax deductible?
Absolutely. The Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization, meaning its purpose is non-profit in nature. When you make any donation to the Foundation, you will receive a receipt for your financial records.

If the school is supported by taxpayers, why is more money necessary?
Local, state, and federal tax revenues finance the daily operations of the school district, including employee salaries and benefits, as well as facilities, maintenance, transportation, equipment, and supplies. The purpose of the Foundation is to enhance the educational program for children.
